3D Game Asset Modeller

Permanent, 5 days, full time, 9-5

An opportunity has arisen to join the creative team at V-Ex, a fast-growing Virtual Exhibition company based in the West Midlands.

We are looking for a 3D modeller who enjoys the challenge of working as part of a collaborative team of modellers and developers to push a new commercial platform forward. The role will entail working directly with the company directors and senior team members to build interactive VR apps and web-based marketing tools.

Your role will be to create optimised models, assets and environments for use in game engine projects. Efficiency of visual fidelity to performance will be critical as we are testing resource constrained platforms. You will also assist in 3D asset creation for photorealistic, pre-rendered content.

As the V-Ex platform grows, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to advance with the business.

Required Skills

The following capabilities are an essential part of the role we are looking to fill:

  • Low-poly 3D asset modelling.
  • High-poly 3D asset modelling.
  • UV mapping.
  • A fluent understanding of Physically Based Rendering (PBR) theory, as well as experience implementing it in material creation and texturing.
  • The ability to integrate well with other modellers, developers, managers and other employees.
  • The willingness to learn new tools and approaches when required.
  • Good organisational skills.

Non-Essential Skills: 

In addition to the skills listed above, the following capabilities may support you in the role, but are not essential to your success:

  • Familiarity with the GLTF version 2 file format / specification.
  • Familiarity with WebGL versions 1 and 2.
  • Familiarity with producing 3D assets for the Unity development environment.
  • Familiarity with the Octane render engine.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience running logistically challenging events
  • Developing and implementing complex logistical plans and process documents
  • A proven track record of managing clients and suppliers
  • A proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage a budget effectively
  • Experience in managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously

Digital Events Coordinator

Permanent, 5 days, full time, 9-5

An opportunity has arisen to join the digital events project management team at V-Ex Virtual Exhibitions – a fast growing, Midlands based company with a global client base.

We offer a varied role, working alongside senior team members on various projects and with opportunities for personal development and career progression. The role encompasses supporting Project Managers with event logistics as well as working alongside the creative and development teams to ensure events are delivered on time and to budget.

The successful candidate must have some office-based training or experience. Ideally they will come from an events background, though general administrative experience will also be acceptable. They must have the confidence to work well in a team and communicate with clients, as well as the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and take on responsibility for their role.

The purpose of the role is to learn the full scope of services offered by the agency and develop your own personal skills and understanding of the digital events industry. Should you wish, there will be the opportunity to advance to more senior roles within the Project Management team.

Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Principle Duties:

  • Supporting the Project Managers in the day to day running of events
  • Coordinating the supply of content and managing approvals with customers
  • Working with the creative and development teams to deliver technical briefs to the client’s specification
  • Ensuring deadlines are met
  • Comfortable speaking with customers directly

Essential Skills: 

  • Experience in administration and customer facing roles
  • Excellent written English
  • Good communication skills
  • Confident and well organised
  • Good telephone manner

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with digital projects
  • European languages not required but an advantage
  • An interest in technology and innovation
  • Web – working with Word Press or HTML and uploading content to websites
  • Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop / InDesign) experience

Requirements for the role:

  • Must be willing to undertake necessary travelling and time away from the office for meetings, events and other business opportunities
  • The role involves working on large scale, international events and therefore will not always fit to conventional 9-5 patterns. You must be flexible and sympathetic to the office hours of your clients.
  • A full driver’s license is essential as part of this role, it is your responsibility to ensure your insurance covers Business Use.

Technical Copy Writer [Automation]

Job title: Technical Copywriter – PR & B2B Marketing Materials for automation equipment [English Language]
Position: Permanent, 5 days, full time, 9-5
Salary: Range from £18k – 29k depending on experience.

We are a successful and growing B2B marketing agency that produces editorial, websites, movies, ads, apps and good old traditional brochure copy for some of the biggest engineering and automation brands in the world. It’s our job to write about product launches, case studies and industry news in a factual and interesting style to generate column for our clients around the world.

The successful candidate must be able to combine an enthusiasm and innate understanding for technology (particularly factory automation equipment such as PLCs, Robots, Inverter drives, HMIs, Servos, Networking and the associated software) with the ability to clearly and precisely write copy which meets the client’s brief and communicates a positive message to the market. Previous experience within engineering, automation, technical writing or a technical journalistic role is absolutely necessary.

Within the role you will be responsible for your own writing schedule. You will be expected to communicate with clients and conduct independent research to enable you to produce original and high quality copy which will be integrated with wider marketing campaigns.

Language: We are happy to consider candidates with either English or German as a native language. If a candidate has the ability to write in both English and German, then that would be considered of great benefit.  English will be the primary language used in the office and so the candidate must be fluent.

Principle Duties

  • Manage monthly writing schedule to meet all targets
  • Work with account managers to ensure all press release topics are properly briefed to you
  • Communicate with clients and third parties at both engineering and corporate level
  • Conduct independent research around the topics you are writing
  • Conduct site-visits, where appropriate, to view applications and products in action
  • Produce high-quality, original copy which meets the brief specified by the Account Manager

Skills and Experience

  • An engineering or journalistic background
  • Experience writing technical reports or articles
  • Good communication skills and the ability to extract information from an interview
  • Good time management and the ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Experience with Social Media marketing campaigns would be beneficial but not essential to the role
  • A second language would be beneficial but not essential to the role
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle is required
